F6 Gallery 3 Year Anniversary - [F6 Gallery] - Come to the F6 Gallery’s 3 Year anniversary and support those who give urban art a place to survive and thrive. Music will be supplied by Dub Commission.

Rok Yo Kicks [Rok Republic] - This is a guest list only event, but it seems too cool not to cover. Beat Breakerz and Centre join forces to throw this sneaker-oriented affair. Sick of getting turned away at the door of clubs just cus your wearing sneakers? Well this affair is just for you. Wear your expansive sneaks and roll in style.

Grizzly Bear Adams Experience - Wreckamic | Cashflow | Charlie Rocks | J.Mack [The Lounge on Elm] - Featuring Wreckamic, who will be debuting some new music tonight, this hip-hop show will also include J.Mack from Pae Me, who has made some noise on the DC9 Vox Pop battles.

Every Never is Now Tour - P.O.S. | Astronautalis | Dessa [Hailey’s in Denton] - Don’t expect the norm when it comes to hip-hop if you’re gonna go to this one. But if you are gonna go you probably already know that. SMU grad Astronautalis will come back to his stomping grounds of North Texas, joined by Doomtree label mates P.O.S. and Dessa. With Astronautalis claiming a background in battle rap and theater, P.O.S. emerging from the punk rock scene, and Dessa a seasoned spoken word poet and technical writing for a medical manufacturer, this should be an interesting night, indeed.

Vitamin Water + Endaglo Party - Sour Grapes [RSVP for Location] - Endaglo, Rec Shop, and Vitamin Water team up to bring you a great event featuring the art of the Sour Grapes collective, music and food. RSVP as space is limited.

imageCentre will be hosting a mini dunk contest Saturday at The Annx, the pop up shop we mentioned last week. Check out this fresh video invite featuring Picnictyme, who will also host the contest. UPDATE: There will also be a S.K.A.T.E. contest, held in conjunction with Index Skate Shop.

While much of the hip-hop world will be traveling to Dallas for the All-Star events, one local will be heading west this weekend to showcase his art. Carlos DonJuan of the Sour Grapes graffiti/art crew will be part of a dope group art show at This, a new gallery in Los Angeles. Sour Grapes is originally from Oak Cliff and Dallas hip-hop is proud to be represented by one of its members on the West Coast. Update: Video teaser of the show here.

Karmaloop TV's show the Daily Loop featured Dallas rapper CS Rucker on Friday. They talk about his upcoming "The Hungry Kid" mixtape. Check out the music news section of the video at about the 2:21 mark.

AwkQuarius - Tahiti & PikahssoThe ever fresh Centre is opening up a pop-up store for the All-Star festivities. I can’t wait to see what kind of action this one’s gonna get. The last pop-up store to hit Mockingbird Station, Kidrobot back in September, was a wild success on opening day. We can only hope that The Annx enjoys a nice piece of that All-Star money, and that they can dodge the hookers that should be raining down on all the the prominent events of the weekend with the subtlety of a meteor shower. ¬†

MTV Jams announced today that Saturday they will be airing a program called “Texas All-Star Day" which will focus on the burgeoning rap scene in the great Lone Star State. Pikahsso and Tahiti, Dallas’ own AwkQuarius, are scheduled to appear on the show. The program was created as a precursor to next weekend’s sure-to-be-insane All-Star Weekend events. UPDATE: Dustin Cavazos will also be on air.

The Dallas Observer has launched a new weekly emcee battle series, called Vox Pop. Submissions will be in the form of :45 videos. This sounds like it could be pretty exciting. For details of this feature, check out the DC9 at Night blog.

Always on point with fresh gear, Dallas’ Centre has flicks of its Spring 2010 collection up on the blog. Their online store is also live now, so scoot on over and click some shit.
